About Me
| Introduction | I am an active member in the local arts community in Farmington, MO USA (south of St Louis), and I have a masters in technology in schools. Now retired from online teaching, I bake pies and desserts at my sons’ restaurant in the mornings. My spare time is chasing this lifelong wish to learn more about pottery because it is so relaxing and enjoyable to me *but* with the intention of opening a learners studio to the community. All else is golf, cooking, and travel |
| What I Love about Ceramics | I am a master gardener and have enjoyed always having my hands in dirt. |
| How I started with ceramics | I had my first hands-on with clay in 6th grade elementary school and never touched clay again until a handbuilding college class. I’ve always wanted to return to it but raising a family and work were always a hindrance. Now I can enjoy learning. |
| What inspires me | As a gardener, I’m drawn to organic design. But I also love zentangle, mandalas, and structure as well. |
| What I'm working on at the moment | Slip trailing and painting with underglazes are my primary focus; I’m also learning how to wheel throw. Time is an issue with my learning curve. |
