About Me

Introduction

I am a carver, hand builder, thrower, jewelry artist and Ceramics Explorer with a 3D printer and a die cutting machine! Based in San Jose, California

What I Love about Ceramics

The freedom of expression, and the ability to make just anything anything, from functional to decorative and everything in between

How I started with ceramics

Family exposure sparked my interest, and then classes at Gavilan Community College in Gilroy with instructor Jane Rekedal.

What inspires me

The material, what I can do with my tool options, fantastic surfaces, trees, leaves, Celtic knots, interesting and innovative shapes and forms.

What I'm working on at the moment

3D printed molds and stamps in conjunction with hand built items and underglaze / underglaze transfers

My Artist Statement

My art practice is primarily driven by exploration.  Currently I am engaged in exploration of various surface decoration techniques.
