How to Create an Angular Mug

In this video, Andy Boswell from Kaolintiger shows us how he adds some angles to his mugs.

Throwing an Angular Mug In a Wheel

There is no one right way to create something in pottery. Every potter has their own ideas and ways of doing things. There are many ways to go about creating angular forms, but this is one good way to create angles on the pottery wheel. Andy previously throws the mug and then in this video uses a wooden stick to press and drag upwards. This creates an angle that is then repeated three more times evenly across the form to give it more of a square shape. Then to finish off the mug he cleans up and rounds the rim to create a more pleasing surface for the user to drink from.
