one of a kind ceramics hand made by me.Simone Chandra Young I have a TAFE Diploma in Ceramics and Childcare so my work is often whimsical.I still see the world through child like eyes.I notice the little things often overlooked such as the unfurling fern bud, the intricate pattern on a sea urchin shell,the patterns left behind on a eucalyptus tree by the Emperor gum moth larvae.These make their way into my work.Mother nature is the best artist and inspiration.
I love to teach children and adults my love for clay this amazing material.It is limited only by your imagination.It is very rewarding using clay as art therapy for people with mental health issues such as Depression,Schizophrenia,Biploar as well as children with disabilities such as Autism the tactile nature of clay and the concentration required makes it quite meditative.
