Hello, hello … my name is Monique. I recently retired and I attended a Paperclay course in November 2022, which started my wheel/hand slab love of clay. I live in a rural area on Vancouver Island, BC, therefore my practice of clay has been completed at home, with either books or online, with some fabulous instruction/teachers. I have developed both a love of wheel and hand slab and I am interested in working with different clays, techniques and even non-standard approaches to finishing a piece. I am in the process of considering the purchase of a kiln, and as a possible side hustle to keep the passion ongoing, and without accumulating finished pieces due to the lack of storage space, or family/friends wondering what I will gift them with next (lol), therefore the timing of this workshop is perfect.
